Nutritional Services

The Dietary Department provides nutritionally balanced meals to enhance the health of the resident. Meal times are considered to be a social activity; therefore residents are encouraged to attend the dining room to enjoy a tasty, nutritious home-style meal. Menus are planned by the Food Service Manager and the Registered Dietitian and are based on Canada’s Food Guide. We offer a variety of balanced meals. The menu items reflect the choices of our residents, the seasons and festive celebrations. The menu is written on a whiteboard in the dining room before each meal. A copy of the four week menu is posted beneath the menu board in the main dining room.

The main meal is served at lunch, consisting of a hot main entree with vegetables and a starch. A lighter meal is served in the evening, and always includes one of our delicious, home-made soups.

Resident’s nutritional needs are assessed on an ongoing basis by the Registered Dietitian - this enables staff to offer additional assistance as required based on the Registered Dietician's recommendations.
